In a not too far off cave there was a bright red dragon egg. The mother dragon lovingly cared for it until it was ready to hatch. Once hatched the mother dragon spent a lot of time hunting in order to make sure the new little dragonette
had plenty of fresh meat. The dragonette longed to leave the cave and play in the beautiful sunlight, but her mother told her she was way too young.
One day while her mother was out hunting, the little dragonette snuck quietly out of the cave.
She saw a beautiful forest and decided to romp through the trees.
Before she knew it, the poor little dragonette lost her way. She tried to fly up above the treetops to get her bearings, but, alas, her wings were not yet strong enough to
lift her more than a couple of feet.
As night began to fall the dragonette spied a cave in the distance. Thinking this must be her cave the dragonette made directly for it with all haste. When she entered she saw four sets of
glowing yellow eyes peering at her through the darkness, and she heard a deep rumbling growl. Grrrrr
The dragonette started shaking nervously and began to spout fire. She heard a surprised yelp and saw 4 little panther cubs by the
light of her flame. Realizing that this was not her own cozy cave, the dragonette quietly left.
As she came outside she picked up the scent of her own trail. She decided to follow it back the way she had come. Before long she found
her own cave and went inside. She was glad to find that her mother had not yet returned, because she did not want to get into trouble. The dragonette warmed up a rock with her flame, then she curled up on top of it and went to sleep.
