Sweet and delightful with a beautiful smile
You told me it makes your heart leap a mile
You bury yourself in my comforting embrace
Your protective self has awakened in place
You see me as weak and fragile that you feel sorry
You want to toughen me up so you don't worry
What will happen when your goal is achieved?
When I stand for myself, no more threat perceived?
Sweetness turned to steel so my heart won't be broken
Warmth turned cold so others watch what is spoken
Is that what you want for me my dear?
Cold hard steel so no one will come near?
Be careful what you wish my beautiful knight
Else you could be bitten with my newfound might.
Would you rather see a smile that looks on you with praise,
Or do you want a scowl that would never be phased?
What you need to know is I've been through enough
I have had to work hard so as not to turn tough
I like to have a sweet understanding spirit.
